About Dr. T

Tlahtoki Xochimeh, Ph.D., L.Ac.

Blackstone Acupuncture is the private practice of Dr. T (Dr. Tlahtoki Xochimeh).

Dr. T is licensed in acupuncture by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice (MBMP) and nationally certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). He graduated summa cum laude and earned his Master of Acupuncture degree from the Minnesota College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MCAOM) at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota.

His specialty is pain relief, but he has experience treating many other acute and chronic conditions in teenagers, adults, the elderly, and pregnant women.

He came to the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to help others recover naturally from illnesses, injuries, and other trauma. Dr. T was first introduced to TCM as a teenager when his dad sought treatment from a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner. At that time, the practitioners not only treated his dad, but they also treated Dr. T’s knee injury. His recovery was swift and stunning. Since that time, he had always wanted to be a TCM practitioner.

Dr. T also has a Ph.D. in American Studies (with concentrations in indigenous studies, health and healing, and history) from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. He has given talks around the U.S. on a variety of health topics, including type 2 diabetes, alcoholism, nutrition, and natural approaches to health and wellness.

Dr. T has worked in seven different departments at the University of Minnesota and he has taught a wide array of classes on indigenous knowledge, cultural studies, history, and health and wellness.

He currently serves as an adjunct professor in the Department of Social Sciences at Northwestern Health Sciences University where he teaches courses such as Health Psychology and the Epistemology of Health.
